Default LLM Question Concerning CM4 to CM03/04

cm0304 is an entirely new game. You can't patch its database to the cm4 one.

And i think (not sure) cm4 savegames aren't compatible to cm0304.

That's a question for the general forum, but since you're American I'd give you the answer anyway. Alas, I don't know it.

Why would that be of any concern btw? The 03/04 db is obviously more up to date.

Edit: Darnit, 2nd pre-emptage this morning by Kfoolmoon :o

CM4 isn't compatible with 03/04 at all. You have to start up a new game to play it, but it's worthwhile.

I was very anti-CM4 because of how good 01/02 was, but now I'm into 03/04 I could never go back to 01/02...although my son just has, and other LLaMas have never made the switch...which has nothing to do with your question

Welcome, KareemG. LLM's definitely the wat to go, good to see another Yankee posting here

As loyal as I am to SI, you can't automatically say that CM5 will play awfully when there haven't been any demos released.

I'm as skeptical as the next guy, but to blindly say a game won't be decent just because it's not by SI, or a game will be decent because it is by SI (See CM4), without having anything to make a judgement on is, sorry to say, pretty immature, Humph.

I think what he means is that it will likely play awful because it's programmed from scratch (see CM4), not because it's being programmed by a different company.

It's got pÂ*iss all to do with loyalty, Doug. Eidos have to start from scratch with new source code, database, game engine, the lot.

They "requested" CM4 was released loooonnnnnggggg before it was ready.

They value money far greater than they do loyal fans or a decent, playable game.

It's a damned good guess it'll be a case of style over substance, with a great number of patches, knowing the Eidos of old.

...and that's got nowt to do with pro-SI, anti-Eidos sentiment. That's commonsense forecasting.

You're mistaking what I'm saying.

I, too, am expecting them to fail miserably, but to say it WILL fail miserably before seeing any proof just because it's new is premature, in my opinion.

Just seen this on eidos CM forum:
"The simple answer is ‘when it is ready’. At the moment we’re aiming for a pre Christmas release – but stop! We will only let you play it, when it is ready."

BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
