Player x complains (to the media, of course) about wanting a new contract--even though their current deal has 2-3 years left on it, of course.

So I tell them to "wait until the end of the season." Also slap them with a warning for unprofessional behavior.

So after the last match of the season, like a good and loyal manager, I pull up their info and offer them a new contract, assuming they deserve one. A week later, they sign it. No problem, right?

Wrong. Late July comes along, and a news message comes up, "Player 'x' is concerned that the new season has almost begun and you have yet to fulfill your promise of a new contract."

Umm, what was it I gave him a month ago? I Hate Bugs.

Finally managing to lead the team to the top of the Conference after six years of squad building then finishing second on goal difference after a final day defeat to a midtable side

Subsequently lost many of the squad during the summer and then my job four months later

Playing in the Dutch League. I'm in 1st place as midseason approaches, which is good because that assures you a place in their rather unusual playoff system.

Anyway, for the month until the midseason break, although we've already clinched the playoff spot, my board is telling me that although they are "pleased" with my performance, they think we should be holding a higher spot in the division.

Higher than 1st?

Even better, I started getting the "Unh" messages for underperforming. I guess the Dutch and ian have something in common. Neither one has a use for tables.
