I have always wondered this aswell, bit unfair the CPU being able to give it to players and not you. Does anyone have an answer for this?
I think I remember only seeing it on contracts that were first in the game and newly signed ones didnt get this, am I right or did I imagine it?

I think you're right. On the other hand, we should be grateful we can't offer that clause, as the players can't demand it

No, I've had it infuriatingly appear for players I've offered contracts to a few seasons in. A Brazillian game IIRC.

Okay, this almost brought a tear to my eye.
A suck-ass cup match: 0-1 down with 15 minutes to go, my GK goes off injured (as it turned out for 6 months, broken leg), all subs already made. So I go for broke.
2 minutes later, they score again, for 0-2.
90 minutes are up, with the score at 3-3. They score twice, then I score twice, then they get a goal with 5 minutes to go before my player has a penalty shout turned down. I lose 6-5.
With 10 men.
