Well, I'm in tears currently about this, so I'll share.

Game 1- young gun striker, 15 on the season by December playing every other match, pulls his hammy and is out 3 weeks.

Game 2 (3 days later)- My international striker (9 seasons in) goes down for a week with a gashed leg.

Game 3 (4 days later)- My other two strikers BOTH go down for a week.

Game 4 (3 days)- Rush mr gashed leg back. yep. you guessed it. He gets injured 'again.' What's more, my prima donna winger gets red carded and banned 6 matches for deciding the pitch looks like a boxing ring to him. Then another of my midfielders gets hurt after I've used all three subs on dinged players already, leaving me to finish with 9 players. 89th minute, guess what happens. ARRGH!

I imagine the reserve keeper sneaking around at night beating his rivals up.

Got offered the job at my "favored club" the other day, and the RPGer in me said "take it" so I did. Get to club, famous for its youth program, and guess what?

The entire reserve side is made up of either prematurely promoted U19s or disgruntled ex-first teamers wanting out. The "backup" keeper for the first team is grey, and the Assistant had 'all' the current U19s listed for transfer for free.

Meanwhile, my old side, which I built through young stars, brings in a dread-locked Dutchman, who proceeds to immediately transfer list or relegated to reserves (and thus unhappiness) all those players, even though they were regularly internationals (either U21 or full cap), and starts bringing in the over-the-hill gang to take their place.

Nothing like building a strong foundation for the future.
