Ok, i've had a quick look around and cant see anything mentioning this in particular, if there is then sorry, i'm very new here. Is it considered fair game to check the transfer list and attempt to sign them, having scouted them first of course.
It's a grey area, i think. Some say they do check the transfer list for possible prospects, other avoid it as such a list doesn't exist in real life. The latters also won't consider buying someone their scout didn't find first.
Do what feels right to you. The first option is ok for me, as long as you realistically scout the player before signing him.
I think there is something along the lines of this list IRL - in England anyway.
I think it is realistic to say it could be used, but remember a real life manager would scout the players first before even considering tabling an offer
The only players that i manually search are transfer listed youngsters from the top flight teams, as i know that the big teams in the EPL organise matches every year and invite smaller teams to come and look at their players that are transfer listed. So imo that is realistic, but i do scout them first and go by the opinion of my scout before making a decision.

I use the player search only for out of contract signings. However on a recent thread there was mention of an official FA list which provides details of players who are transfer or loan listed. Some LLMs do it some don't, do what you think suits you.
