Just to check its not just my ****e scouts, does anyone else send their scouts off to scout a country, and then they send reports back saying they DONT recommend buying this player ? Whats the point in that ??

Oh of course I scout these out of contract signings and offer them a trial before I decide to sign them or not. :o

I think this came up a while ago but I'm far too lazy to look for it. IIRC the consensus was that the scout thought there was potential there, but the player wasn't ready yet.
I'm not overly impressed with that behaviour. I'd rather my scout kept his mouth shut if he's not going to explicitly tell me that a player is either a prospect or good signing.

No, they werent saying that they werent ready yet but there was potential, they were just saying that this player wouldnt ever be good enough to sign (mind you, they do have to be bad to not be good enough for my team) !!! What is the point in telling me that ??

That was my point in the initial conversation, I think.

If I get that message on a "second opinion" scouting mission, fine. The other scout doesn't rate the player (or the same scout has changed his mind).

I don't want to see it on a fresh search as it doesn't tell me anything useful. Others suggested it was because the player had potential, but as yet undeveloped in any form.

Yeah i just dont see the point in wasting the imaginary time, sending me an imaginary fax or imaginary phone call to tell me he doesnt recommend the player he's just found !!

But, if you're not allowed to use transfer list, then are you allowed to put your players in it? As such list isn't available in real.

As other's have mentioned, i think there's a published transfer list circulated around clubs, if not the transfer list then the players available on Bosmans. Surely this would make a search for players out of contract ethical?

AFAIK, there's a loan list available. Never heard of a transfer list, but it could be different in other countries.

I think it's realistic that you could call up a team and ask "Hey, any of your guys available for transfer? ... Can I come check them out?"

Though, that's not exactly a list, but still. It doesn't seem at all hard these days to get the information.

I believe FootballTransfers.info even has an [unofficial] transfer list.
