From a LLM point of view one of the annoying aspects of the game is the lack of interaction with the board.
I recently asked the board to expand the stadium. They replied that this was occurring.
IRL I could have looked out the office window to see the construction workers, but in the game there is no notification.
Others have talked about training facilities being upgraded with no notification of it starting. I hope this is improved in FM as it doesn't seem realistic at present.
Do you really think that the manager asks the board to expand the stadium? I can believe that they may ask for better training facilities, but not for 3,000 extra seats.
I agree with mkus. Personally i dont think its realistic as a manager to go around and ask for the ground to be expanded. Thats not his place to do so IMHO.
But can you really see a manager, whilst asking his chairman for a bit of money to sign a player and a fresh lick of paint for the portacabin at the training ground, saying:
"Oh, and by the way, how about making the North stand a bit bigger?"
In the "FM ideas" forum a lot of people are asking for manager contract negotiations to be included in FM'05, and included in that is the option to ask the board to promise to expand the ground, improve training etc etc as a demand before signing a new contract, and this is something that could happen in real life before a sucessful manager signs a new contract.
Oh ffs. Just how far do people want the game to go? If you start going down the route of contracts and ultra-realism, then why not have boards block approaches from other teams when they try to obtain your services, or the board suing you for breach of contract, forcing managers to go on "gardening leave", etc.
