I have to say, normally I put no weight on Cups whatsoever. But in my current game in the Dutch League, oh yeah, the Cup matters. There's no League placement bonus available, so once you're promoted, sacrificing a single spot in the League to keep the Cup money is no problem at all, unless it's the spot that knocks you out of Europe--or into the Playoffs.

I was pro-cups until an FA Trophy quarter final second replay interrupted a tight Conference run-in.
Now I am more balanced. If we need cash they are good, if we don't then I am not so stressed when managing a LL team. Once you reach the higher divisions though I think they become more important as the Board expects success, and they can get you into Europe through the back door.

Cups own, until you lose to a poor side in a cup during as good run in the league, then you have tired players and lower morale, and end up ruining your season  | |

The Portuguese Cup really DOES suck ass.
Last season I lost my first match, conceeding 6, this season I lost my first match conceeding 7.
My 'keeper then conceeded 13 goals in the next 3 matches.
The gate receipts of a high-profile match are worthy of some dancing, but not when Ass Man-guy persuades Benfica to drop by for a pre-season friendly :cool:.
