However, I find the random player generator not to be so random in CM03/04...

The two times I tried I had no trouble identificating who the alledgedly random player was... just a shame they keep the likings for the same clubs and personnel (only aliases applied)....

I supose that the players' potential might vary, but still too recognizable for my liking.

It certainly prevents you signing known players. Doesn't really grab me when I try it though.

I must say it has improved, even from CM4.
Although there are still some 'interesting' players (Tahitians playing for Benfica anyone?), the number of work permits definitely seems to be more realistic.
UELLfan's point about same club and personnel preferences is true, however - observe the teenage lightning-footed Qatari winger at Manure in my game.

As far as I'm concerned I am using fake players, even though Ian keeps telling me he's seen them play--like my super-goalie for example.

Ignorance of player's names does not make their names fake, seamus...

Although I must admit this is one of the reasons that has made Brazil so appealing to me...
