Hi there - currently enjoying myself with LLM favorite Leigh - I would be interested as to how LLM players view transfer listing. I have a player who has done OK for me & is the top wage earner, but my scouts have turned up a better player who I have signed on a free & who has taken his position. I can't afford to keep a non-regular player on high wages so I want to list him. The question is, is it realistic to initially try & sell him for a higher price than his cm valuation (which is subjective anyway I suppose) & see if you get any interest (unlikely, but you never know !)or is it no go to set the price above the valuation. I am unsure to be honest how it happens IRL, do clubs 'make it known' what they are looking for when they decide to sell & tone down the fee if they don't get any offers ?
I never quite liked the players values in any version of CM, seeing as you always had to offer multiples of a players value to get him from an AI team. Meanwhile, i've never managed to sell a player for much more than the game values him, so i'm just crap in that section.
In real life, any reasonable team will attempt to make as much as possible from a player. I don't see why the human manager should do otherwise. Go for as high as you can, but it doesn't mean you'll sell him for that much too.
I'm a money-grabbing git and I try to negotiate the highest fee for the player that I can.
Just be aware that in the lower leagues it's quite difficult to sell a player for more than he's worth - unless a club that's a division or two up buys him
I will try and sell my players for what I can, if I get the chance. However, I am known however for letting players go on frees, just to get them off the wages. It depends how you feel in the situation.
Do you need inital capital, to buy a player for example, or do you need to get down the wages in order to get your players to sign extended contracts?

It's both I guess - in the Conference you can't have your highest earner a bit part player chewing up the wage budget & there's the reality of having to sell some players to stay afloat, but I always try to sell players who I have got an equal or better replacement for (not always easy !)

I'm the same Craig - if I don't want a player and I'm trying to get rid of him, I'll take whatever comes in tbh, often a lot less than their asking price...
If it's a first team player that the offer's come in for I might try to negiotiate a bit more, but unless they're vital to the side I'll usually sell anyway... I like to keep the finances in check, even if the team suffers slightly...

I once sold a player worth 100K for 2M GBP, but this is already bragging

He must have been pretty fupping good, I very rarely get even three times valuation offers even for my best young players... :/
