Why can't we, "lowlifes", edit or delete our own postings?

English isn't my first language and sometimes I notice spelling errors on my own but I can't correct them.

In such situations I feel like a complete idiot.

We tried to re-enable it last year but, like before, it was just abused by people and caused a bit of chaos.

If it was possible to enable editing per forum then it would probably be enabled here but some lowlifes in the Off Topic Discussion area ruined it for everyone

Can't you just ban the idiots, instead of punishing us all collectively?
