i had an idea to create a club with no playing or coaching staff, give them £2M or so, 5000 all seater stadium and an average rep for a non-league team.

i did this in CM01/02 and managed to get to division 1 from the conference.

i like free transfers, you see.

I've done that before now - it's actually a lot easier than starting at a club that actually has players since you don't have to weed out all the naff players before you can find room in your wage budget to sign people you actually want.

I also created a new club and added them to the Scottish league with no players, but I wanted to use only players coming through their youth setup and they didn't get any through in the 2nd off-season which rather killed that aim...could have been because I started the game midway through the season (starting in March in Finland or whatever). Might try again starting at beginning of a Scottish season and holiday my way through to the second summer to see if I get enough players!

Leigh RMI are decent little club to manage and they get a new 10,000 capacity stadium shortly after starting aswell. :thup:

The first year I replaced most of my players with free ones.
I used 2 scouts to search in the Conference Leagues, Ireland and Scotland.
Sell the players you don’t use. If needed sell them for free.
The ones nobody wants: fire them! You have to pay the rest of their salary, but you to pay it anyway. The advantage is that you monthly salary figures go down which is making room for fresh blood. Also your board is happy. Unused players start to moan sooner or later and interfere the morale of your ‘real’ players.

One golden hint:
The players you actually will use, give them a full time contract. Do the same with your staff.
It doesn't cost more and they'll train the double.

That way they'll have fewer problems to reach the end of a match.

Their attributes will go up faster as well.

I discovered this when I was in my 3th year.

Can't recommend it enough. Was getting bored of doing the same old game with Millwall or Rangers. So went for a Blue Square South team. Got no money, got a 3,000 capacity ground but have still managed to get in to League 2 within three seasons and am loving every minute.

Loan signings are the key, so find yourself a good local parent club and get some of their players on a season long loan.

Close! But not quite.
Was appointed Lewes manager with only 6 games left of the season - got them promoted and promptly resigned.
Spent just 43 days at Numancia before discovering what a mistake I'd made!
My longest spells have been two years at Seville and currently three years at Tottenham.
So I guess it's 10 clubs in 14 years!
Can't be afraid to quit a club if you think they won't get anywhere

I find Worcester City good to start with, spent 2 years there before getting the Leicester job, 6 months later got sacked now I'm at Coventry in League 1

I just LOVE playing with 1.FC Union Berlin!

They're a small club from eastern Berlin with a great little stadium built in 1920's almost in the woods... After World War Two they were constantly chased around by the government since only army and police clubs were forced and they were the typical workers' club (Union!).Most of their players fled to western Berlin.And yes,they're RED!

I don't know,I just love the story behind it and how people there don't opt for big Hertha BSC but for this small club.
