Wasn't sure where to post this, as it can be counted as a request for some sort of system or a childish rant but..
I know you cant force people to comment on others work but surely if someone has taken the time to comment on your work, surely you can do the same. The people I'm talking about are the ones that post their own threads and leave the forum or that section of the forum and only come back to check or reply in their thread.
Another thing is that people tend to comment on popular threads rather than threads without a comment. The main purpose of posting work is to get comments and criticism so you can improve, not just to tell the regular artists how good their work is. I tend to look for threads without a comment and give my advice or help to generate a little bit of interest.
I understand if people dont have time all the time, but maybe some of the more regular posters could take what I have said into account. Not because I'm trying to tell people what to do but because people may not have thought about it before I said.
If someone wants to tell me I'm wrong then ok, but I think if people comment on others work then the forum would be more opinionated and therefore more effective.
thats just how the mind works, i know it sometimes can be frustrating but you cant force people to reply on your work. Most of the times when people dont reply is because they dont like it. Its frustrating sometimes but you cant do anything about it i guess
I agree mate, personally I haven't had alot of free time as of late, so I do usually just check on the people i talk to on msn's work. Sometimes I don't even get to comment on them either. I hadn't commented on anything for ages until yesterday on Ste's music template.
On the whole, as I said I agree, but the problem is (as you stated) you can't force people to do it. So the selfish people are never going to do it. I think it's good that you brought this up though. Maybe people will take into accoun twhat you're saying..maybe not.
Yeh i totally agree with you, but what can we do about it tbh?
People chose to comment on what they like, yeh i know its piss taking seeing all the good artists getting comments.
This matter keeps coming up and yet there is no solution.
It would be nice if everyone made an effort to comment and help people who are new to the graphics scene. But i guess people don't bother, they think its a waste of time.
Most people forget where they started, tis a shame.
I've been slacking posting wise, haven't really had time. I just browse these days, exams .
tbh...the people that I've picked out who aren't replying to anyones work, and only posting their own..i just ignore...and I don't give my thoughts on their work
sounds harsh...but its the only way I can think of doing anything
the reason why i never post my work here and post a lot in the 'rate the sig and avatar aboce you' topic is because that is the only place where members rate my GFX although by doing so i cannot really improve. I appreciate it when members especially GA give me feedback because i can improve by doing so and iaccept heavy critisism because that's a good way to improve. I post a lot of feedback when i can but i never get something in return
I have been a browser of this forum mainly never posting my work or never posting, but i posted my work today and i got a few comments, but i never used to get 1, so i think the site is improving, but as has been said, nothing can be done about the matter.
An idea maybe to get a team of people who have a lot of spare time, to post in the threads with little activity, that is the only idea i have.
School ends for me this friday, and I will have some free time till 1st of September so I'll try to improve my commenting. Was busy all the time and checked the topics made by the artists I know that are good, to see some new styles etc. and commented when I was really impressed. Will try to change that.
