Background: Waiting for FM 2007, getting bored with FM 2006. What are the most exciting things in every new release? IMO, the match engine and the player database. We can't do anything about the former, but how about changing the latter?
Does someone feel up to the task of writing a tool which takes as input a FM06 player database and changes the potential ability of every player by a specifiable amount? Unfortunately, due to lack of programming knowledge, I couldn't do anything like that.
Suggestion for possible changes in potential ability:

set every PA to a given value

multiply every PA by a given factor

change every PA by a random number (from a specifiable interval)

Thoughts? Comments? Volunteers?
PS: Hmm. It would be cool to also be able to change this for a saved game; personally, I would like the non-determinism introduced by randomly adjusting PAs up or down a few points every season!
PPS: I know that from a simulation point-of-view, changing PA is non-sensical. But I see no other way of introducing more non-determinism into the game. The mechanism intended for this, i.e. variations in CA, I think is insufficient.
