It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Data update on the way- usually has a small patch too but I wouldn't expect any drastic changes.

It just happens. I just try and ride it out. Problem is it tends to happen to my entire team- I can usually nick one-nils via set pieces, but it's depressing when you're firing blanks.
The thing is, it seems easier for a ST to score from a tightish angle and do an henry-style finish by curling it round the keeper with perfect placement into the corner than it is for them to score from a one on one chance where they're square onto goal.

Fully agreed.

A mate suggested that the hidden stat 'pressure' will help a lot with one on ones, but isn't that the composure stat in the profile?

He also reckons that as well as being separate, composure is for penalties and pressure is for one on ones even though the in-game hint would suggest otherwise.

I find ythat if my striker has a one on one and shoots first or second touch he usually scores, but once he has more than that it's end of chance. Don't know if the rest of you have seen that.

Imo the pressure stat is how a player will react to media comments and team talks, I don't think it has anything to do with goal scoring.

Wasn't there a thread about this in the general forum a while back where SI said they had stats that strikers in one on one situations only score a certain percentage of there chances and that they had coded it in the game? Maybe thats the problem.

Havent really noticed that. My striker can dribble to the side of the box, narrowing the angle big time, only to slice it past the goalie and the post into the net.

My striker is Shevchenko though.

Agreed.

Composure is (naturally) very important for penalty shoot outs. Pressure is how they handle pressure situations, not moments. Pressure from the media, the manager, before and after the match etc.

i was playing with barca and eto only scored in situations wer he was either a) he was away from the keeper and hit it quick b)he was beside the keeper and took loads of toches to round the keeper>>>>>apart from when it was a tap in or header<<<<<

This is not about tactics or stats. This is just a case of poor 2d engine programming from SI. There are far too many clear 1 on 1 chances created every match, but this is compensated by the fact that every striker is totally impotent 1 on 1.
