hi, i just need some advice with Mentality between defence and midfield and strikers, (ie)
if i set my defensive line to 6 and set all my defenders to Mentality of 6, what Mentality do i set for my midfield and then strikers, (ie) do you set midfield Mentality 2 notches from 6 and then strikers 2 notches up from midfield to set balance through whole team.
There are so many ways to go about this and no single way is the correct way, people have had success with all kinds of ideas. The Rule of One, The Rule of Two, The Slider Apathy, etc...
I would pick aa approach based on the team I had: High quality/league leading team then I would stretch my team out a little to make it harder for the opposition team to defend against me, make the pitch wider and larger and then stick it with short passes and quick tempo. Mid-quality/mid-table team I would try to keep it fairly compact perhaps the Slider Apathy or The Rule of Two would work well here, with mixed passing mixed tempo and perhaps tweak it depending on the opposition. Low-quality/relegation battling team I would keep it very compact The Rule of One, Narrow, Direct, Quick tempo.
But hey these are just my approaches here, nothing holy...
Added to what ZiqXx said, watch some pre-season friendlies on full match and make adjustments to your defensive line throughout; especially if any gaps occur. Remember d-line only comes into play when the oppostion have the ball in your own half. Only then.
One half of viewing and adjustment should lead you to the most appropriate setting.

Personally I would have their mentalities the same one(Slider Apathy), so they are all focused equally much on attacking and defending. 13-15 seems to do the trick for me.
