I tried an attacking 442 from the default tactics, and applied individual instructions to the players.
The individual instructions were all the default ones from the game, fullbacks, centrebacks, goalie, def mid, att mid, forward tgt man and forward striker.
My team instructions were all set to the middle, everything is mixed, tackling is normal and use target man is checked.
It works well for me in the sense that it gives balance to the tactic with this setup, do try it out.
My team is pretty good unfortunately, so the results are fabulous. But I'm sure with average players, you will also get decent results. As in, if the players arent great, cant expect the team to be great either in my opinion.
