How do you get the monthly instalment 'trick' to work when selling players?

Tried to do it many times with no success..

Is this something that the 'patch' fixed?

Put him on the transfer list and set his squad status to "Not Needed" and it should be better.

1. transfer the player, offer to clbs for £0, and set status to not needed
2. Alot of clubs should now be interested
3. When a few clubs make bids, renegotiate for the amount you want over 24 months

this works for me anyway!
