Am in January transfer window in 3rd season playing with Liverpool.

Agger wanted to leave and has just gone to AC as I was at risk of losing him on a free at the end of the season so I only have Carragher and Zapata as my DC's and need to buy a third in case of injuries etc. Needs to be good enough to step in and play now really.

I've got £29 million to spend. I've looked at the usual suspects like Garay (not interested in move to Liverpool), Barzagli (Juve want £80 million for him!), Criscito (asking price too high), Ramos (Asking price too high).

Ideally, I wanted to buy Micah Richards but City want over £40 million for him. i've offered the £29 million I have and they just keep asking for £40 million or more.

Is there any other quality defenders that I should be looking at.

cahais, bocaly and sakho. All would have developed well now and wont take up your budget, plus there versatile

Had a look at Sakho - he does look good but his pace and acceleration is shocking - think one is 9 and the other 10 - was looking for somebody with a little more pace ideally - not looked at the other 2 though so thanks for the suggestions.

If you have trained him well enough, Jack Hobbs should be ready to step in occasionally against weaker teams.

If Breno hasn't gone elsewhere, he'd be a good shout.

Or you could try to unsettle Richards. I did that and City ended up selling him to me for £26.5M.

Or maybe try David Luiz from Benfica? Or Curtis Davies from Aston Villa? Or Christopher Samba from Blackburn?

Breno's PA is only about 160 in my game - doesn't look that great tbh.

Micah Richards was unsettled so I though I'd get him a bit cheaper but he's just signed a new contract at Man City and he's not unsettled anymore so his price has rocketed.

Patricio Araujo from Chivas develops really nicely and is worth having in your squad. He should come cheap too. Brilliant CB.

You can also look at Johan Djourou. If he's still at Arsenal, he'll proabably be very expensive as they are rivals of Liverpool. But if he's moved see how much you can get him for.

You can have a look at Maduro, Cahais, Nordtveit, Mancienne, Steven Taylor, Felipe (starts at Udinese). They are all very good CB's as well.
