For my celtic team that is going into start of 3rd season. I have in the region of 10-15 million to spend.
I play a 4-2-3-1 with my central midfielders having arrows back to defensive midfield. Last season I had Banega, Ricardinho, Nakamura and Diarra (on loan). Ricardinho and Diarra are off and Banega only averaged 7.07 for the season (I am training him to be a natural central midfielder so hopefully that will help). Ideally the new signing should be a genuine central midfielder.
Of the players interested, I am looking at:
Arouca (expensive - worth 10m)
Kuzmanovic (at Firoentina)
Zola (looks good but a DM, at Monaco)
Muamba (still at Birmingham, is he any good?)
Some 27 year old at Palermo who I've forgetton the name of, he is a natural across the midfield and DM.
Yet I am not sure these players are good enough. I want someone who will be better than what I have. Any suggestions?
Toulalan (Fantastic) from the french champions erm.. cant remeber team name LO sumit like that.
The same team has a guy called Bodmain or summit he is a CM, AMC and looks the nuts could get for 7m?
He may be mega expensive. Michael Johnson is a good player. Maybe you could get Pirlo for that price if you unsettle him. He is DM but plays perfect as MC.
There seems to be a lack of great straight MC players.
So is it worth spending lots of money on them then?
I have about 25 million and was planning on signing Zapata for 10million and the rest on a central midfielder. Could possibly do with a striker however as Marco Ruben has been a bit inconsistent and my back ups are still quite young. Had Scott Sinclair on loan and now got Nazarith from some Columbian team and two youngsters called Maranen and Ursu (or something like that). But Nazarith doesn't have a work permit. I appealed twice but no luck and had already delayed transfer. Do you know when can I re-apply?

No matter what else you do ...... make sure you get Zapata. Also, since you are looking for defensive midfielders, take a look at how much Veloso costs in your game. He is the best player in my game now. I have him as MC with back arrow to DMC. He has everything in his game and the one player that makes my whole team tick.
I also had Banega and Hamsik but couldn't get them to perform very well due to their relatively low mental stats.
Thanks folks. I'm definitely getting Zapata though he is going to cost 60k a week in wages - about double my next highest earner!
I'll take a look at Toulalan, Bodmain, Pirlo, M.Johnson, Tymoschuk. I've had a look at Veloso but decided against because he seems more of a DM, defender than a midfielder. Though if the general consensus is that this doesn't matter, I might go back in.
Muamba is magnificant in a couple of seasons. Was trying to buy him from Newcastle in 2010 but Man U snatched him for 24M!! He's keeping Hargreaves out of the AI team.
Makoun would be a better buy, though. I had Andreasen too but his Decision stat is very low and he dallies on the ball too much.
