I've never been able to retrain a player without him considering me mental and throwing a hissy fit about his training. Even if I try to do something reasonably sensible like re-training a left footed right back who can't yet play left back.

So they whinge. And I fine them.

You can tell you've got an árse-licker on your hands when they happily retrain to another position, that's how rare it is. Usually the same players who have about 6 messages like "thinks his manager is a tactical genius".

Probably because I'm not.
(I have a very clear of how the game should be played, but it's tactically very simple. )

I did that... I played a D C at D R for ages and he out-rated all of my seemingly superior specialist right backs. But do you reckon he wanted to be retrained?

That isn't a tip by the way, he was hardly a standout performer, just the best of a bad lot.

Yeah - I played a guy with his only position as sweeper in my CM field slot in my game in Sweden... He did a top notch job and enjoyed playing there but once again refused to be re-trained...

Currently trying to change a DRL into a centre-back as he says he plays there on the compare players thing

Which brings me to a side point - I think this is a grey area, the old 'compare players' function... Would you really have it irl - I think not... :/
Not that I'm beeing that stringent these days about my LLM guidelines (the little ones anyway!) as I'm getting a touch bored with CM - need a big career to pick up and get me back into it properly

I rarely use the "compare players". When I do, it's more out of curiosity rather than for any practical porpoise.

I would see it as a statistical view of what you would probably notice as differences between the players

I have not used the compare players function for a while. I prefer to just look at the two players myself and do my own comparison. Perhaps I should use it.
