I have not really been too bothered about the reputation of my club changing. I think the answer to your question is success. The more success you bring to the club, the more your reputation will grow and will more than likely become professional.

I suppose the same applies to real life football clubs.

In the English Divisions, some clubs just promoted to the conference are semi pro. If you get promoted it usually changes.

But in Italy, an Serie C club, didnt change for me till i was in Serie A

so depends on the league.Also i know contracts have nothing to do with it, and if i remember from my italian game, the size of the squad doesnt matter. I think its just the level you're playing

Well in 03/04 my conference team became Pro at start of season 2, not that it's good as the 'other' expense really grows and is now making my 'Pro' team to go under..

Well, I want to get rid of about 20, its not so easy however. I am trying to get rid of some of the players that were originaly on the team, but its so hard to make any money on them that its almost worthless. By the way, i bought maybe 6-7 players total, the rest of them were signed on free transfers.
