Disagree - it's perfectly realistic to apply for jobs if you are out of work, otherwise teams may not think you're interested... I don't think it's non-Zealot to apply...

I don't think managers IRL apply for available jobs. They wait to get an offer, AFAIK. Actually, it's a matter of drawing the line between realism and virtual reality. Personally, i would have no problems with my coscience when applying for a job.

For a lot of the bigger clubs, I am sure managers do apply for the job, take the West Ham job for example. There were a few including a certain NI great and a Ex Man ure and Middlesbrough manager that publicily stated they had applied for the job.

I think though that a board will look at all the possible managers and draw up a shortlist of who they want to manage the club in order of most wanted and then offer them the job. If I were looking at it from a board point of view, I doubt the people who apply for the job have a huge effect on a shortlist though, because they would probably have a shortlist already drawn up.

Hmm, that could be the reason why I an't getting any offers. My nationality is Australian and I am playing only with the English & Scottish leagues.

One of G.A's famous methods of LLM was to play as a glory hunter and work your way up the footballing ladder which requires you to apply for jobs at bigger jobs.

...or even at Hearts I always keep an eye on the Jambos top job when I get up through the Leagues. Don't always apply, but I have done and shall in the future :cool:
