You are probably right, but in my (ever so long) lifetime I have seen so many comapnies with good products desparate to get in to the US market. They all finish up dependent on the US market and the rest of the world can go hang.
I predict within a few years the game will be sold worldwide as MLS manager.

The reason why I think that will not be an issue is that "Association Football" is a niche market here. It will not be a market that will dominate the ROW market IMHO. Even with significant growth for MLS, I think the footy dominance in Europe would still make it a larger market for FM20xx.

I have never had a problem with soccer, I use it in the USA. I still believe though, that the name change will eventually come. MLS will not be happy that their name is not going to used on every box that goes on sale worldwide. Some smart lawyer will see to that.
I remember when Ralph Lauren got permission from the Hurlingham Club (the worldwide arbiters of Polo) to use the name Polo for one of their perfumes/aftershaves, within two years they had a large US Law firm trying to ban the Hurlingham club from using the name Polo as it was a recognised trade name in the USA.

I think you're overestimating MLS, tbh. They simply don't have that kind of clout right now. For them I see it as a chance to get much needed exposure in the local computer game market, and I doubt they'll be worrying about world domination anytime soon.
