Well, it's difficult to say since I'm not a footballer, but I always put loyalty far above ambition so I'd generally stay with a club if they still want me rather than jumping ship at the first sign of a better offer! Esp. since we're talking LLM type footballers here - moving abroad and everything that comes with it would be rather more of an upheaval than for a top star.
Mebee you're right though - if I was a footballer I'd put greed ahead of wanting to live in my favourite country or loyalty to the club I was at or whatever. I guess I could retire back there after my short footballing career
As for "especially England",
if I had moved up to Scotland in the first place and
if I was then to move to a club abroad I'd go for slightly more exotic than England :p
