It's 2015 and I've just taken a trip across Europe and ended up at 1.FC Nurnberg. currently doing quite well in the German 1st.
I've got an amateur squad, but they are not in any league and don't play in the cups like some other A teams.
I'm fed up of organising friendlies for them to keep them sharp and also feel that this is a bit unrealistic as pro teams in the middle of a season are accepting friendly games mid week, having played a least once in the week.
Is there any effective way to run a German A squad or do you just let them sit there getting fat stuffing their faces fine German food and wine.
Do you have the Regional League selected as playable? If so, teams will be randomly promoted into the 2 Regional divisions annually just like into the Conference in England. Among these random teams are any "A" sides not already in the Regional.
If you do not have the Regional selected, you're stuck playing friendlies or trying to loan them all off. "A" sides cannot be promoted into the Bundesliga, ever.
However, you should be able to get your "A" side to play in the DFB Cup, regardless as to whether or not the Regional is active. So that's a few competitive matches a season, assuming you can keep them in the competition.
Had a quick look and saw only 2nd and aboue in Germany loaded. I started this game as an Asian save, and had all leagues in asia as well as england, and then selected leagues in Gremany, Russia and Greece. so that may go some way to explaining my problem.
