Just wanted a challenge so i have taken on Queens Park (coz thats the suburb i live in Australia) in the lowly Division 3 of Scotland. I have no money, crap players but a massive stadium of 52,000 at Hamden Park. So i figure one day if i can get them to the premier league we could be a power. Or is that just wishful thinking. Already i have made some free signings and habve committed to a youth policy. We are topping the table at the half way mark. But the finances are struggling already we have lost 70k. But i think promotion wil help and maybe a good cup run.
Anyway has anyone ever played as Queens Park, your experiences would be appreciated and also whats with the stadium, i dont get it but i'll take it.
If you've come for a challenge, as you stated, you've come to the right place. If you're looking for tips I'd probably try somehwere else, perhaps GQ. Most people round this section of the woods try to learn from there own experiences and not rest on other peoples tips and advice. If you keep playing by yourself without help the game will be more challenging, as you wanted, enjoyable and the rewards if achieved shall be even sweeter!!
However, sounds like you're doing alright at the moment. Just keeping plugging away and see how you go. Goog luck!!
Hello Tayls, another oz? This place is full of them!
Boudewijn, says it all regarding tips, although I am sure someone will come along and tell you of their experiences with Queens Park (Not Tipping of xure).
The reason the stadium is so huge is because it's Scotland's national stadium.
you may want to read the LLM FAQ if you haven't already.

Tayls, you want to know about the real Queens Park? They are the oldest club in Scotland and one of the oldest in the world. The unfeasible stadium is Hampden Park which is the natioanl stadium. I went to Hampden Park in the old days before seating regulations and there would be over 100,000 manic Scots making a great din - imagine the atmosphere at QP's home games with a 'crowd' of 300.
They are a fully amatuer club, which means no transfers and no salaries at all, so the game is a bit unrealistic in this regard. They do, not surprisingly have a very comprehensive youth system. IIRC IRL thay've only ever been promoted twice, briefly, in the last 120 years. Check out their website to learn about their history - it's very interesting.
For me thay are the perfect LLaMa challenge. As my colleague in the above post mentioned, when I took over QP I didn't win a single one of my first 13 matches but once my tactics kicked in and morale rose they started playing football and I think we won 8 league games in a row. If I hadn't been head-hunted I am fairly confident we'd have been making a late push for promotion.
Of course in ths forum I can't give you any specific tips but I will say that they are a wonderful club to manage - difficult but not impossible to gain success, although whether you could get them to the SPL on their resources is another matter. But stick with them and I wish you the best of luck.
Thanks for the info. I was not after tips, i am aware of the rules, maybe i phrased the topic wrong, sorry. Interesting stuff though, i still think with a stadium that big the possibiities are there to become big, it may take some time though. For the person who asked i am not from WA i am a Victoria, QP is in Geelong.
Cheers
Oh yeah and to the bloke who said the only good aussie is a dead one, whats Slovenia ever done mate, are you even good at sport, just go and jump back in the line for bread you loser.
