Player naming - NO Exceptions

The reason behind this rule is locally known as The Floodgate Scenario. Lower League Managers rely almost exclusively on their Scouts to find players to grace their squad, they don't want to see names of players found by other Managers in posts on LLM.

New arrivals to LLM have in the past seen the names of regens or famous current players in posts and have decided that it's okay to post "Buy Player X, he's a great goalie" or "Player Z will net 140 goals a season" and be routinely flamed by regulars.

Name one player and it opens the floodgates for dozens of others.

For this reason there is no player naming in LLM - NO Exceptions.

Tactics naming

Similar to the above. The naming of tactics in posts has, in the past, invited the discussion of these tactics and recommendations of others.

Again, Lower League Managers like to formulate their own tactics and formations and help is not welcomed.

The old "Floodgate Scenario" again. Name one, you let them all in, and for this reason they're banned.

Use of Editors

Twofold reason here:

1) Cheating is bad. It's bad for the soul. It'll get you burned badly in LLM. If you want to cheat, that's fine, but don't tell us about it, we don't want to know.

2) Editing data files can corrupt the .sav file. This can take several seasons to show up and there's nothing worse than losing a 20-odd season savegame, worse if you've been cheating to do it.

For this reason third-party updates aren't allowed in LLM either. Only updates by SI are smiled upon in LLM.

The other reason for third-party updates being banned is that there's the potential for the unscrupulous updater to advantage/disadvantage his favourite/hated Clubs/Players, and this would upset the balance of the game.

One grey area is the use of the "RETAIN_PLAYERS" .ddt files. This seriously unbalances a game. If, say, you retain all the players of Italy when you're playing a game in England and Scotland you end up with Clubs full of Italian players in all the Divisions in Scotland and England.

Bragging

Simple one this. We're not interested in how you won the Champions' Cup with Morecambe in 6 seasons, with the FA Cup every year and back to back promotions, because you're either lying or cheating. Period.

Questioning the ethics of LLM

The guys who post in here play to the Spirit and Ethics of LLM. It's up to the individual player how they play, they bought the game, it's up to them how they play it.

However...if you post in here, you play to the LLM Ethics. It's as simple as that. You post here, you accept the rules.
