CM3 had a bad habit of doing this and through my experiences of a few dead games, I implemented a policy of having at least three backups.


I never saved over the top of a previous save. When I saved I always created a new saved game file. Save game called Game1, next new save called Game2, next save Game3 etc. When I had a number of these I deleted the oldest saves, but kept the last three saves. If I ever had a curruption, I never had to go back too long in time.

Old habits die hard, as I still use the same system in CM4.

3.65 is the best patch.

3.68 only came about as an update when CM3 01/02 expanded to the Xbox. Personally I think SI broke more than they fixed.

My update game thread is .68. The only real problem I have with it is having to shove background leagues into the foreground to see what jobs are available (and to get those vacancies filled).

I always wonder what improvements did those patches do. 3.9.60 has rarely ever crashed on me, unlike 3.9.65 and 68 versions.

Silly poof. .65 also fixed a flaw in the match engine that stopped people using certain "super tactics, from what I remember. 3.9.65 was the best version released.

first off... windows 98 sucks.. sometimes it says you have more disk space than you really have, try running scandisk on full (turning off screen saver and making sure sleep mode is off ect.) run it a few times.. when it finds clusters that are unused files and other junk just delete them...dont keep wasting space.

i found that when games would not load.. renaming the file and trying again sometimes worked, also shut down lots of the programs that are running in the background, by using CTRL+ALT+DEL, if you dont know what it is.. shut it down, if it fecks your computer up..restart and dont shut it down next time
then just reopen cm try loading the game and just wait a few hours
