Player quality deterioration in career games?

At times it seems CM0304 is seriously 'pete tong'...my Darlo side rose up through the divisions but I was managing to do so a core of players I'd had since the beginning in Div3, many had absolutely abysmal mental/physical/technical but continue to perform with honour, scoring decent ave. ratings each season. It also seems that many teams are being crippled by outrageous wages for 35+ year olds who aren't up to the standard anymore. Hmm, despite having the 4th best goalscoring record in the prem, we still scraped 14th place, Unfortunately my 56K would explode downloading the 4.14 and .5 update for CM0304 so I'm making do with 4.11

I've noticed this player degradation as well. The places I find it most obvious are in players lounge

Plus a lot of players generated are physical freaks - I'm talking things like [some stat-related nonsense]

Also, why do so many regen players have [brains the size of a pea]?

This is a quick test, but I hope it might help someone...
Taking all centre backs in each group to begin with:

[Some stats listed]

50% up the list (ie the median values of these attribures for all players in the tested groups):
[more stats listed]

25% up the list:
Regen Original
[more stats listed]

Looking at this it's easy to see that regen centre-backs are generally taller, faster and weaker than the original player set.

This is how it is for AMR's:
75% up the list:
Regen Original
[again]
50% up the list (ie the median values of these attribures for all players in the tested groups):
Regen Original
[and again]

25% up the list:
Regen Original
[and again]

[other tipping here]

I don't know if this is already done to some extent, but would it be possible for SI to to analyse the database data for patterns like this and use the data gathered as parameters for the youth player generation?

I hope I've explained this ok. I'm sorry if this is sounding like a rant, or like I've got too much time on my hands, or both - especially on my first post - but I need some decent young centre backs, and not even CMScout can find me any...
