Problem with that is that even by testing you gain intricate knowledge of things you're not supposed to know, like certain attributes of players. That knowledge will be with you forever, even in that longterm game you haven't started yet.
But that's your problem, not mine, so I won't complain.

I always thought it happened in every long-term game, certainly has in every game I've played! Maybe one of the later versions (3.68 or whatever it's called) fixes this? I'm sure it was down to the CPU teams "cracking" each other's tactics at the top level of the leagues, rather than any diminishment of quality in the regens.

Part of it was a regen problem. Regens lacked some skills like stamina and reflexes etc... so the quality of players deteriorated.

I thought that was the case in my latest game, with my Norwegian club scoring just under a goal per game. However, a change of scenery to Argentina and a tactical rethink, and we're scoring at well over 2.5 goals per match over about a year.

I suspect a major reason is that we just get lazy in our tactical approach over time, and don't look at the players we have and how they fit our instructions.

Problem is, if people don't bug test the game for us, we all complain about it being garbage. So I think we can cut him some slack for trying to help give us a better game.

Having done a bit of beta-testing once (with another game), I can honestly say I hated it with a passion, even though I liked the end result.

Never used anything else than 3.9.60, so it could be a problem with this specific database.

I noticed a reduction in goals being scored, more so in the Premier League than the others, in my Billericay game. That was with the .68 update.

I remember someone posting that the Premier League was won by a team scoring 25 goals in the whole season decades into a game.

But I cant remember the version, the thread or where I left my car keys.
