Anybody actually experienced one on 2008?

If they have were there any circumstances that forced the takeover? like getting into debt, etc?

I've seen takeovers in FM08 yes.
The circumstances vary, most because of money issues but some happen for other reasons also.

When playing in Scotland I've noticed that both old firm clubs get taken over either by someone unknown or a current board member quite a lot.

I've experienced two takeovers in my save, both when the club was swamped with debt. I was fired after the first one, though

not for me, but for people such as Watford who are now a CL semi finalist team
