the SPL has a lower reputation that the (rightfully so), however this question ties in club rep too.
I won the champs league with rangers in my first season (beat barca 4-3 on pens if you must know), what would happen if I continue this the next two seasons? If this were to happen in a real life situation, Rangers would be thought of as one of the most dominant forces in Football - but would this happen on the game? Is there a cap on the club rep for clubs who don't play in leagues with a rep of 20? Would it be possible (to use my example of Rangers) to make Rangers the best team in the world?

I tend to play in the English leagues so can't comment on my own experience but from reading various threads on here there seems to be an issue of how league reputation acts as a cap on club reputation.
For example someone posted about managing Lyon to the league, Champions cup and French cup triple. Yet when the game adjusted reputations Lyon's actually decreased because of the effect of league reputation. It appears to be a case of one club having continued European success while their national counterparts fail to progress far enough to enhance the leagues reputation. Someone had similar issues when managing in Germany.
To answer your question others have had issues with creating a superclub power in a less than glamorous league. All you can do is give it a shot and see what happens.
Unfortunately you wont be able to increase your reputation to much and maybe it will go down because in the DB the club reputation was too high compared to league reputation.
I've recently found out that "structure reputation" is variable and a team from a certain structure winning continental competition will increase it's reputation over time.
Unfortunatelt, (using Scotland as an example), you will also be fighting a losing battle against your own relative lowly starting reputation, and also, the existing, (and rigid reputation of the Scottish Premier League).
That;s correct. If what I am led to believe, there are now 4 different types of reputation.
Player reputation. Variable.
Club reputation. Variable.
Competition "league" reputation. Rigid.
National "structure" reputation. Variable.
There were some interesting comments in a thread over the last few days by Themistofelis if you fancy having a look.
