Happens quite often on mine.
Rooney manaed Everton and then went to Man U.
Beckham managed Man City and Turkey.
Reyes and Ashley Cole managed Arsenal.
Souness (again), Gerrard and Kirkland managed Liverpool
Heskey managed Leicester twice.
Steven Taylor managed Newcastle.
Sevchenko managed Milan.
I could go on. There have been loads.

2060/61.
So all these players have had full management careers, and now retired from management (luckilly, I can still find them on club histories).
Ryan Giggs didn't get the Man U job until october 2035, aged 62!

John Terry won the european chapionships with England in 2032 - the only time they have won an international tournament since the game began. He's definately up there.
At club level, hiring a club favourite has rarely bred sucess, although Vassell did get Villa promoted to the premiership after a long abscence.
At other clubs, Torres won the champions league with arsenal, but Alan Shearer is a clear winner, winning a world cup with Canada and league titles with man city. Just imagine what he could have achieved if he hadn't wasted 10 years of his career with Jamaica.
