Default I am so close to snapping the disc in two!!!!

People,

I have already posted a topic regarding a Manchester United league where I am having troubles winning games. So, I tried to start another league with Spurs and took peoples comments into account. I signed Cani, Henri Saviet, Iago and Anthony Stokes, all of which were players highly recommended by my scouts.

I set up training schedules to suit players and most players have green arrows indicating that their training is helping them. I have set individual player instructions to suit each players' attributes and I have even taken to not shouting angrily at my players when they get battered by Wigan, Derby and others.

I put so much effort into pre season and making sure that I got a good start in the league, which I did with a 2-1 win against Everton. But after that it all went wrong no matter what I tried I am now 10 games in won 2, drawn 3 and lost 5!!! Now I know Spurs had a bad start in real life but I am just losing in the worst ways possible. I lost 5-0 to Fulham, 3-0 to Wigan, 2-1 to Derby at home! I must be the most unlucky player too as I have had about 10 goals disallowed already and about 4 players sent off.

Is there a huge element of the game I am missing because I really don't know what else I can do. I have put players in their strongest positions, taken the coaches comments and tried to mark danger men out of the game, given suitable team talks to try and boost player morale etc. I am at a loss!

Check out the training & tactics forum.

Download a tactic from there and see if that helps.

Overall could be a whole host of reasons as to why you are struggling. Think we all know that the match engine isn't always the greatest and can be very frustrating. Appears as if you are trying to do all the right things but alot of it may be down to the tactics that you are employing. Is it a default tactic? One you amended yourself? I am Leicester City at present and I must admit that I find the game just about right with regards to how hard/easy it can be.

I play a standard 4-4-2

GK Cerny
DR Chimbonda
DL Bale/John Ledley
DC King
DC Dawson
MR Malbranque
ML Iago
MC Zokora/Cani
MC Jenas/Tainio
FC Keane/ Stokes
FC Berbatov/Bent

Like I mentioned before I set individual player instructions so I have my two wingers set as attacking and one of my centre midfielders. My other central midfielder I set slightly defensive. I set my centre backs as tackling hard and man marking.

I also set my midfielders with good passing to play through balls, players with good dribbling I set as run with ball etc.

I am just at a loss because if I am setting all my players to reflect their best attributes then what more can I do!

I would understand if I lost to the likes of Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea but I haven't even played them yet, the teams I am losing to are the likes of Derby, Wigan, Fulham and Middlesborough.

I will try out a different tactic like others have suggested and see how that goes.

I think I won
my first game at Everton away but my other win was at home. Destroyed by Fulham away and lost to Derby at home. I don't think I am performing any better with either to be honest.

Might be an idea just to use a default 442 tactic and not to change ANY part of it and see how that goes. Seems to be that doing things this way, at least for a certain period of time, may help you win matches.
