I'm Schalke and have signed two players in the January transfer window, was able to register them to play in the latter stages of the Uefa Cup but not the 2nd half of the league. How do you register players for the league? Could do it before the season started but couldn't find the option to during the registration window in January.
they obviously had squad numbers? if not, thats probably the reason. whenever i sign a player, i give him a squad number and sort his training. SI have included this feature in the news item when you sign a player.
i've never done germany, so i can't give an educated answer if it concerns league rules or something.
i think i had something similar in a spanish game recently... can't really remember it, but it had something to do with work permits or the date i confirmed the transfer.
when (datewise) were the transfers confirmed? can you not assign them a number from the squad screen? i assume so, so its probably a bug. i noticed that i had to clear the squad list if i wanted to change a players numbers round (before the deadlines), but that the whole spanish registration problem.
First signing was 29th December, before the January transfer window opened as it was a free transfer. Second was 2nd January. The 2nd player now has a squad number as I played him in the Uefa Cup, I guess it was automatically given, and can now play in league games. First player has no number even though he's played in the uefa cup. There are definately numbers available as i sold a few players.
