I bought a player who was called (IIRC)

Ignacio Diaz De Cerio (something like that)

I remember when he scored on his debut the commentary said

"And the fans chant Ignacio Diaz De Cerio's name!"

I don't think so...

Ages ago in 1996/97 I think, I bought a striker called Youri Mulder for my Arsenal side and then, for fairly obvious reasons, bought Tony Scully even though he was poop, just so I had have my own X-Files partnership. :cool:

In older versions when playing with my mate I did it all the time, ended up with a better team then him which drove him nuts.

I bought an average Championship player for my Premier League team Billericay Town on 06 who had the same name as me.
To my delight he turned out to be very good for me.
