Relationship between database stats and actual stats?
So I tried creating a new player on the FM editor today, and filled in his stats on the database. However, when I started a game I found that most of his stats (with the exception of things like determination/natural fitness) were much lower than the values I entered in.
I realize it probably has something to do with the low current ability stat I assigned to him, but in that case what do the player's stats in the database represent if not his starting stats? Are they his maximum stats, potential stats, or just what his stats would be at an average ability level (say 100)?

The value represent his starting stats as does the CA (while the PA is his maximum potential ability).
For most playes the starting stats & the CA are adjust to one another, so most players begin the game with their database stats.
However, if the stats & CA don't concur then the CA takes precident, & some of the stats will be lowered (or raised) so as to fit the CA value.
Just so you know, a player with a CA of 200 has an average stat of 15 (or 17 I just can't remember).

It stands to reason really. Say you gave a player a CA of 10, but stats of 15 all through, it would mess the game up majorly. The stats will have been altered to fit in with the CA given.
