Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default tutoring

what is the best way to have a player tutor another one. i had a young player tutored by an old veteran and now they dislike each other and i'll probably have to sell the young player in january. so should a tutor be a player of the same position or is personality similarity more important?

I'm in the same boat as you my friend, i think that the player you want to have tutored should be tutored by a player that you would like the young player to be like. Thats my guess of how the tutoring system works but to tell you the truth, i don't know.

Something else I reckon would help. If under the "personal" setting there is an option that says something such as "Thinks Joe Bloggs is a good player" or something positive regarding a player then if they are the correct position it might be a good potential link =)

How do you turn off tutoring, I have my best CF tutoring a youngster, who has turned out to be quite handy, however the tutors skills seem to be dropping? is this the cause of tutoring? Ive been training the heck out of the tutor with little results.

When i look for younger players to learn from the seniors, typically i search for "thinks he can learn alot from (name)" in the good relationships. I would then tell the younger player that (name) would be "an ideal role model" Ive never had a tutoring go bad this way.

As for picking players that dont always say they can learn alot from (name), i try and pick players that have similar personalities, and play the same position. be careful if they have different personalities, for example one is jovial and the other is professional or loyal and the other is ambitious.

If i think the match up might be risky, id pick the 3rd selection, cant remember what it is right now, something like "can learn from (name)"

Also, ive never really tried it out before, but if one of the younger players list another player as favored personnel then it might also be effective, altho i dont think many youngsters list another player as favoured personnel til they are older.

Once you choose the match up there is no way to cancel it. And i think the "ideal role model" selection is the longest length match up and the 3rd selection (?) is the shortest length of time, but im not %100 on this.

Actually if it'd clearly not going to work out there is a way to cancel it. You loan out the younger player to a feeder club.
