Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default DCs - short or long passing?

should i put my central defenders on short or long passing?
my intuition says long so theyll clear balls away from danger area... but maybe im wrong?

Long passes for defenders, middle for midfielders and short for the upfront men seem to work best. Good luck =]

Really depends on the kind of side you have and the kind of football you want to play.

For a top side I would recommend keeping it short for good sides, between 6-8 should be fine. You can also vary the passing instructions with the fullbacks to give you more variety in attack.

But with conference level teams or even teams in Div 1, you should avoid short passing with CDs if your players do not possess the necessary attributes. I would stick them with long passing. And put ball winners in midfield.
