It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Re-training player position - How?

Hi,

So I have 3 great center backs so 1 must become a right back. Ive heard runours that you can retrain their position instead of relegation to the b team! How is this done?

Also could a cf could become a wide player if they are accomplished there but not natural. I want to make them natural there.

Each player has a training option when you're on their screen. From there you can change their schedules and which position they train.

Alternatively, on the team training screen you can choose to view positional training rather than training progress and change it there.

You can train a player to be natural (I believe), but it's very difficult. It would take a long time with a young and adaptable player. Acomplished is in most cases the best you can hope for.

Of course, the manual tells you most of that.

It isn't possible to train someone to Natural i'm afraid, there either born with it or not

That's not what I've heard from anecdotal evidence on these forums, but you could be right.

The only reason I would question it is because you can train somebody in a position when they're "accomplished" but not when they're "natural". Surely training an accomplished position is redundant if there was no gain from it.

Just a possibility.

the game always had the ability to train an accomplished player, but i've never seen one become a natural at a new position no matter how early i started 'em, in any version (i've been playing since cm04).

if you don't keep training your less versatile players in their new position, however, they might sink back into mere competence. this is a new irritant in 2k7--a welcome one too, for its annoying realism.

I think playing them in the trained position is enough to keep them skilled in it. Long periods of not playing there may well require additional training.
