Try Keiran Charnock from Peterborough, he's a good consitant center back with a bit of pace. He should be around the 4th choice there at the start of the 07/08 so you might be able to get him away on the cheap. He managed to claim my first choice CBs place after he got injured, after 8 games he averaged just under an 8 and we've only conceeded 4 goals since he's been in the side (now at 26 appearances with a 7.64 average).

Sefo Soley is also a top MC/DM/CB at that level, he's available on a free at the start of the season.
