Having sold Martins and Emre I brought Matias Fernandez and Michael Johnson for my midfield.
I also enquired about Van Der Vaart and was quoted £12.5m, is this worth it?
If I got him my midfield would probably be Fernandez, Milner, Johnson & Van Der Vaart.

I'd also have Banega, Adrien & Piatti as youth with Lulinha signed up for next season and barton to come back.

I've never had Van Der Vaart before so need people's opinions. If he did flop or I wasn't happy with him would I get back more than what I paid for him do you think?

Very very good player when he's fit, Very injury prone though....

£12.5M is good money for him though, although with the youth you have I wouldn't bother. You can get him free at the start of the 4th season.....

He would be a great addition to your already good midfield, well apart from Milner

If I weren't to buy him then who would you pair with Johnson in the middle? Or is there someone better to buy?

I was thinking if not about Baptista on season loan?

IMO Van Der Vaart plays best behind a loan striker with wingers supporting him. I guess it depends on your system. He needs to attack and have a good DM to play alongside. I never manage to get the best out of him in a flat 4-4-2.

Much better than Baptista, though.

Best AMC I've ever had. Amazing on FM07 amazing on FM08 would have him at any club for any price. Best AMC on the game in my view. Last season he bagged 31 goals, 33 assists and 15 MoM's. Class act!

Only buy him if you think you need him mate, he is a very good player but if you don't need him then don't buy him.

Learn from my mistake. After downloading the best youth players shortlist i ended up being asked about every last one of them by the media. When it came round to Messi i said he would be a great addition. I had no intention of buying him tho.

However, the fans were excited about it and Messi himself said he wouldn't turn down a chance to play for me. I've won 2 ECC's on the trot which is probably why.

So barca say they'll let him go for the right price. I have a pop with 12mil with Arouca, they say 18mil with Arouca. So i accept. Now i have a world class player in my already beefed up talented Man Utd squad... I also got offered Terry by Chelsea in exchange for the temperamental Pique (Don't ask why, but the fans were happy about it)I accepted cause Pique isn't in my plans but i never thought he'd come but he came and now my defense is packed. What to do?

So yea, if you don't need em, don't buy him

He is a very good player and the price is great, just remember he is rather prone to injury and not loyal at all too.
