Rep Power: 0 | Replacements for ageing (and crap) Man Utd Players
Hey guys. I'm playing as Man Utd and am just coming to the end of the first season. It's gone amazingly well, even for Man Utd, as I have only dropped 10 points in 31 matches! However, there are a few ageing stars who need replacing, such as Neville, Van Der Sar, Giggs and Scholes. I would also like to let Saha go, even though he's scored 14 goals from the bench, as I just don't rate him at all. As for promising youth I have Saivet, Maurice Hongla, Alex Teixeira, Freire (a regen goalie), Frederic Duplus and have a couple of other regens coming in the summer. But obviously none of these are ready for first team football yet, so can any of you recommend replacements for the players mentioned please.
Thanx, Sean |

sorry for the double post, but I woas wondering wat you all reckon of Mauro Zarate, 'cos I was considering getting him to replace Saha, he'll only cost £3mil. Also, I was thinking of Joao Moutinho for Scholsie?

Even if you have a tonne of money to spend, get Bogdan Stancu. Usually after 2 seasons he becomes a clinical striker and will usually get you over 30 goals a season. Plus he's only young!

Any idea how much money you might be getting?
DR - De Silvestri or Rafinha
GK - Lloris, Agliardi, Frey
AMC - Nasri, Matias Fernandez. You already have Anderson for here.
AML - Silva, Guardado (yeah the price you're getting is what you'd expect. Else, activate his release clause and pay it all upfront), Menez, Marcelo
ST - Zarate (yeah he's pretty good but you can do better), Fred, Defoe (good backup and he's English if you like your players to be?), Cavani, Bendtner, Balotelli. Look to get a striker who's good in the air as neither Rooney or Tevez are. Will give you a different option I suppose.
Oh, and Moutinho is very good as well. But Nasri would be a better option I think as you can get him tutored by Scholes maybe? But yeah, Moutinho is great if you want him.

thanks incrediblehulk, ive got deals agreed for stancu (£850k), guardado (£22million) and moutinho (£11.5million). so all i really need now is a goalie and a right back , might look at getting de silvestri, what you guys think of antonio barragan?
also how much do you think Lloris would cost? he's currently worth £2.8 million. is ben foster any good, ive just noticed him in reserves and his stats look pretty good considering he's had a long term injury.

Barragan is pretty good too but De Silvestri always turns out to be a quality RB. He's probably the best young RB in the game. Seeing as you're Man Utd, money shouldnt be too much of an issue and you should definitely look to get him before Barragan.
Lloris should be available to you for around 7-12M. Well worth the money. You could also try for Ochoa but his price is sometimes very inflated. Foster is a good GK but I dont think he's good enough to be first choice for a big club. I'd say get a GK like Lloris, Ochoa, Frey etc and let them rotate with VDS as much as possible. Send Foster out on loan for a season to let him get some experience. Next season, sell VDS (or he might just retire?) and Foster can then be No.2 behind whoever you buy this term.
