I'm managing Lyon, about to start season 3.

I have £63M, and I'm £1.68M p/w under my wage budget (I think that's like another £87M spending money right - so potentially around £150M to spend).

French teams can only have 4 non-EUs (not including African players). My 4 are Ustari, M.Fernandez, Fred and Cahais - the 1st 3 are NFS.

Where can I improve?

I realise I only have 1 DM, so I need a back-up. Madrid bought Makoun this season so he's outa the question. I need someone with high tackling and passing.

What other positions are weak or need back-up?

Any suggestions on who I should buy would be much appreciated.

Only one that springs to mind would be Veloso will be expensive but well worth it.

I think Veloso will cost around £15-20M. Should I get him? And would he be happy with sitting on the bench for the majority of the matches?

I shouldn't buy anyone else for other positions? I was thinking of replacing Squillaci soon, as he's gonna be 29yo. I wish Richards would come to me, he's got a release of 20.5M at Barca but isn't interested.

I see there's been an enquiry for De Silvestri. Dont see whatever you do. He turns out great.

For DM, try to get Sunny, Mascherano, Zapater (although he starts whining if he doesnt play), Diarra (Arsenal (ex irl!) good DM).

See if you can get Julio Baptista. Adventage if having him around is that he can provide solid cover for you for a lot of different positions (much like Bodmer). If not him, then try Maduro. Or best is to just get Bodmer back as he's brilliant. Thats all you need really. One versatile player to cover a few different positions. Oh, and Veloso does that too so get him for the 15-20M. Great player. Not sure if he'll like to be a sub though.

Toulalan didn't fit into my formation. He couldn't perform as a DM, since his tackling isn't high enough. The board accepted a 21M + 30% bid from Liverpool for him. I managed to take Lucas off them for £5.5M, since he t.listed himself, so I don't regreat getting rid of Toulalan at all.

I sold Bodmer to Lazio for £5M + £20M after his next international appearance, so for £25M. He couldn't perform as a DM aswell, and I have plenty of players fighting for the AMC positions so I thought I might aswell sell him.

I have no intention of selling De Silvestri, he has a PA of 181 (I got curious). He'll be my RB when he develops enough to replace Clerc.

Sunny isn't for sale sadly, love the guy. Mascherano never performs for me no matter what team I am, and Liverpool have no intention of selling him anyway, seeing as I took one of their best DMs already. Zapater is great, but I can't risk him upsetting the team if he can't take sitting on the bench. Villareal bought Diarra 6 months ago, doubt they'll sell :/ But maybe Denilson. I'll check what Denilson's price tag is.

Baptista's contract expires in a year, though I doubt he'll fit into my formation, like Bodmer. His tackling is too low for the DM position and I feel I have enough attackers.

I'm suprised I haven't been advised to buy some defenders. I thought that was the weakest area of my team

No your defenders are just fine and squillaci will perform for a number of years, he does for me.

your team is fine and should ominate the french league. When i looked i just saw you were in need of cover really. if your not planning on playing the defensive mid much why not get in some like diarra or flamini who are good cover, but at least yo wont be leaving a class player on the bench all the time, plus there french.

Your defence is fine, if your going to improve it your only going to by signing a world class central defender which'll cost, someone like barzagli
