Hello, I'm playing Palermo and first season went really well finishing 4th in the league and everyone was happy.

But I lost Barzagli and Zaccardo on free as they refused to sign new contracts. Then Diana and Cavani was lost due to board accepting high transfers.

Signed Podolski for £14m as he was the only good striker I could get at a reasonable price. He's been pocketing goals, but I suspect he's not the ideal partner for Amauri.
Also got Fernandez which has been good, he's improving slowly. Also snapped up Jimenez fairly cheap, which I tend to play as MC.
Got Del Horno from Valencia, and he seems to be fairly consistent, but not amazing.
Signed some random (average) spanish CB as a last minute panic thing...

Loaned Sahar from Chelsea for back up, which my fans are raging about...
Fernando Meira was quite consistent and decent 1st season, but he's been poor so I dropped him for Rinauld which is very good at heading.
I also signed that young dutch player wiljadum(sp?) which is farmed out to St. Mirren but will probably try him next year.

Obviously my weakness is in defence, I have about £7m to spend in January and a good wage budget. I can squeeze out some more money for transfers by selling a few players.

Thinking of off-loading Meira, Simplicio, Miccoli, and/or Jankovic.

Simplico is pretty good. I dont think you should sell him unless you get a good deal. 10M is a minimum I think.

For CB, see if you can loan/buy Harvard Nordtveit from Arsenal. He's a good youngster and will provide great cover. See if you can Marco Materazzi from Inter. He would be available for peanuts and is still a decent player. Also, check how much Samba is available for. He's really strengthen your defence.

Look at the teams relegated from the Premiership (English) last season. You can generally find Middlesbrough, Blackburn going down. You can find some decent CB's there like Huth, Nelsen, Woodgate etc and they'll come cheap.

I definitely wont offload Meira as he's your best CB imo. The other 2 are very slow and that would be a problem for you.

Yeh, probably should keep Simplicio but my midfield is a wee bit on the heavy side. I just feel Miccliaco/Jimenez is more attack minded.

Been trying to get Veloso signed, but I need to wait for next year to afford him. Or Cristicio from Juve...
I just really need some amazing wingbacks as well, I don't feel my defence is good enough...
