started a man city game and realised i needed players in these positions. my budget isn't the largest and man city don't seem to have a big enough reputation to get the "big name" players.

Would be useful if you told us exactly how much you have to spend and what your current team is. Anyway,

GK - Enyeama (500K?)
CB - Ignashevich (free), Samba (800K), Felipe (5M)
ST - Stancu (500K), Briand (10M), Martins (13M), Fred (13M).

You could get cover for all 3 positions for about 1M from that list!

In that case, I'd suggest you get Samba in for sure. Him, Dunne & Richards would be great. Not to mention Corluka & Onuoha who can both play there as well.

Vincent Enyeama is a great GK and a bargain for 500K. You should definitely get him.

Blow most of you money on a striker imo. If you're happy with Bianchi, Vassell, Bojinov etc then a backup in Stancu is good. Else, I'd look at getting maybe Briand for 10M or Matias Fernandez for 10M as well. Matias is ofcourse not a ST in the game. But if you look at his stats, he has everything that you need in a striker. Get him and retrain him to ST and you'll have a great goal-scorer for yourself.

check the release clause of ustari and garay, i managed to get them for derby at the start of the second season for only 4.2m and 6.75m each, for striker get stancu and if you have any money left get cesar delgado or jimmy briand

Both getafe and racing got relegated so that probably helped!
