As in Martin van Rad, my alter-ego for games started in Germany.
Team- Kickers Offenbach
Division- Regional League South Division
Average attendance season 1- 2800 (of an 8800 seat, 23000 total attendance stadium).
Facilities- Good.
Finances- 150k transfer fund, 479k balance (Euro is the currency of choice).
Season 1 expecations- Fans and club both "Reasonable League Position." League Performance-We started the season strong, and to my surprise, actually built up a 15 point lead in the Division by early Feb. But a wicked loss of form saw us caught in a slide that trimmed 11 points off of that by May 8th. However, we beat 2nd place Siegen at home to turn the season around, then won 3 of the last 4. South Div. Regional League Champions
Cup- 1st round match at home vs FC Bayern was a bid payday (325k), but a 0-2 loss.
We made 4.5 mil euro on the season, and received 450k transfer funds for season 2, and (for the 1st time in my 03/04 experience) 100% of transfer funds for next season. We also (for the first time 'ever' in my CM experience) received an unsolicited upgrade of training facilities to "top flight+ youth academy." But we are odds on to take the drop next season.

I saw the thread title and for some reason thought it was about an editor.
Well done!

Thanks,
Couple things, I was dyslexic on the attendance numbers. That should be 32000 max, not 23,000.
Also, our exact promotion odds for next season are 50-1, I'm not taking the bet, mid-tableocrity would be fine for me this season, thanks.
Oh, and Ollie, if you read this, would you believe that the curly-haired, ex-striker DFB manager failed to qualify for the Euro Championships--including losing to ICELAND 1-3 (thus letting them into the 2nd spot), and kept his job? I didn't.

Well, this was an odd season. I signed in two new right backs a new left wing, a right winger and 2 Eastern European forwards. Total spending of 265k. One of the forwards had key attributes in the high teens, so of course the Assistant said he wasn't worthwhile to sign. He was really bad--fan's player of the year bad. DFB Cup- Beat Cottbus 3-0 in round 1 at home. Lost to VFB Stuttgart 1-2 at home in second round. Season-3rd placed, Should've taken the bet
In a league where 7 of 18 teams will go to another division (4 down, 3 up), one knows one will not say in the 2 Bund for long. But I figured on 2 seasons. We started the season well, but had a pre-break skid to 7th. I would have been happy maintaining that. But coming out of the break we won a club record 6 straight matches against the other top-half sides and placing us in 1st. The rest of the season was win 1, lose 1. But everyone else was worse than us.
When I get 58 points from 34 matches, I don't expect a top 3 finish. But everyone else was so horribly bad, we couldn't even give away the promotion spot--and we tried.
Average attendance- 15905.
We were given 9.75mil for transfers. The baord added undersoil heating and told me to "battle bravely" against relegation from the First Division. Current balance is now 17.2 million, after upgrades. And our title odds are 2000-1, by far the highest I've ever seen. I'd put our survival chances at even money.

Can't avoid was right. I played the last session after drinking one of Denver's best Margaritas and air-guitaring Franz Ferdinand. If 'that' doesn't stop us from going up. Nothing could.

We added a fullback reject from Dortmund, a FT striker, a DC from Estonia, who my Assistant said was not worth being signed (the invariable symbol of quality), and a Swedish MC/F. a total spending of 6.25 of our 9.75 mil. League- 8th place
We started the season barely on the good side of the drop zone, bouncing between 15th and 10th. But a mid-season spurt either side of the break took us into the top-half. We climbed as high as 3rd, but the thin air that high up the table was more than we could stand, and we tumbled back down to a very respectable 8th place finish. DFB Cup
Sometimes Cups don't stink. Especially when you draw Regional sides the first three rounds. (Feucht, Regensberg, and Paderborn (all away, all comfortable wins). We drew Leverkusen for the quarterfinal at home. The match was a back-and-forth 2-2 draw that went to penalties, where we kept our nerves and won 4-1. The win was the trigger to our great mid-season run as well. The Semi-Final was against 2nd Div RW Essen, we won that 2-1. And then played ginat-killing Regional side Aue(!) in the final. Winning the DFB Cup 1-0 (e), for Offenbach's first Cup win since 1970.
Fan's player of the year again wasthe striker our Assistant said was garbage (the assistant will be my former assistant on July 1st). The board's expectations for the season are to "rebuild the squad" (yeah, right). The fan's are "Respectable league position" (more likely). Our budget now sits at 31.1 mil. But the board cut my transfer budget to 8mil for this season.
