Is this option against LLM rules?
(it makes the game even harder I think)

There have been some discussions on this subject recently, and the consensus was that yes, they are against LLM rules and ethos. Read the LLM guidelines thread, i think it mentions something relevant to your question.

They add to the realism on the one hand, but take away from it on the other because you start getting young players from that nation (of you use retain nation players) popping up all over Europe when regens come through.

But that happens anyway depending what leagues you run. For example, I have the Aussie league running and LL Italy is full of 17 year old Aussie regens. Extremely unrealistic especially when many of them are 17 year old first team regulars. The same would happen if you used the retain function. No matter what you do you will get an unrealistic balance.

But it'will be easier to you to win a game with foreign oponent because they don't have full squad and it means your country rulle in every competition (national, uefa etc)

I'm confused. Are you after making the game harder or easier?

Not that it matters. LLM isn't about making the game harder or easier, just playing it the way you should.

Use whatever you wish to use. You bought the game, and you should play it the way you want to. If you wish to use RETAIN_PLAYERS, go for it, instead of trying to convince hardcore LLaMas of it. You will just have to live without the glorious LLM badge.
