I had a stellar 14 year-old D/DMC in my Cheltenham game, but I refused to overplay him because it just didn't seem realistic. He makes a few sub appearances, the odd start due to injury. Ofc, by the time he's 17 he'll be a key player

Sadly, you're probably right, although we are in Div1 now so might have a better chance of holding on to him

I remember playing with Halifax and using a 14yo keeper and a 15yo striker. The striker is now 30yo and has played and scored for England.

Generally, if a kid is better than the old pros, i'll use him in 40 matches a season without thinking much about it. It does happen occasionally IRL, i don't see why i wouldn't do it in a footie simulation.

I'm that way with 16 and over players, but I do tend to treat the 14 and 15 year olds more carefully.

I tend to think there's no such thing as a player burn-out in CM. The 15yo striker i mentioned was playing almost every game for Halifax, so he really should have been burnt out by now. A DMC fullfilled his potential being "normally" introduced into the first team, getting his first cap while being 21yo. So no big difference when it comes to a player reaching his potential.

I'd like to see that sorted out in FM05 btw. I really shouldn't have 16yos who play better than 30yo pros.

I do see younger players "in need of a rest" far more frequently than older pros if they play regularly.
